The National Development Company (NDC) recently had a meeting with Murdoch University’s Director for Strategic Partnerships Susan Marie and Dean (Singapore Campus) Peter Waring on biosecurity initiatives and research opportunities. Algae farming in particular was focused on to potentially help the local aquatic sector produce healthier stock. Several sites were considered, including Bataan, for their strategic advantages where potential partner universities can extend assistance for research.
Furthermore, the National Training Center for Biosafety and Biosecurity (NTCBB) of the University of the Philippines’ (UP) National Institutes of Health (NIH) has a strategic involvement with Murdoch University already in the pipeline. NTCBB is considered by Washington, DC as the most successful biosecurity program in Asia according to its director, Dr. Raul Destura.
The NDC management team also held an ocular inspection at the Batangas Land Company, Inc. (BLCI) relative to its negotiation with Chevron Philippines, Inc. regarding the lease of BLCI properties and their current state.
On the side of technology and innovation, NDC General Manager Anton Mauricio and Chief of Staff Joyce Ann Azurin attended the Trusted Network Alliance event which is aligned with the 2024 Indo-Pacific Business Forum (IBPF). Priority projects are addressed in an assembly of business leaders, government officials, and funding sources to support rising Indo-Pacific economies.
